Governance

The Trust sets the strategic vision and ethos of the schools and oversees the governing bodies.

The Trust Board believes in the value of local governing bodies and has provided for all its schools to have/retain their own governing bodies, which operate technically as advisory bodies to the Trust Board.

The governing bodies have powers delegated to them by the Trust, and their roles are very much focussed on the core business of teaching and learning, curriculum, health and welfare and pupil achievement.

The Trust retains responsibility for many strategic matters including governance structures, staff employment matters, finance, site development and all legal matters pertaining to the two schools. This division of responsibility helps to ensure that governors can focus on school improvement without being unduly burdened with the sometimes bureaucratic statutory processes associated with running a school.
